Every life contains thresholds — a new job, a move, a loss, a relationship ending or beginning. Even welcome change asks us to grieve the version of ourselves we are leaving behind.
What transitions ask of us
Transitions are not problems to be solved. They are passages to be moved through, and they unfold on their own timeline. Honoring that timeline — instead of rushing toward the next stable identity — is often the most important work.
- Name what is ending, even if you chose the change.
- Make space for the in‑between, where nothing has fully formed yet.
- Lean on relationships that can hold complexity without rushing to fix.
"The way through is rarely a straight line. It is rarely meant to be."
